Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions and to empower the black and brown voices within Bridgeport and New Haven County area to over come the systemic oppression that they have sustained for centuries. We've consistently grown since we were formed, all thanks to the helping hands of our amazing volunteers.
Urban Concepts is committed to an aggressive response to the devastating financial affects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This response includes finding resources to reach the black and brown community that have been most impacted with the loss of jobs and wages during the pandemic. We will continue to coordinate services and resources, like assistance with utility payments, food insecurity, emergency housing, child care and student tutors and mentoring.
In addition to COVID-19 response, we focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community coordinating housing, employment, civic engagement and education to the black and brown community located in the East End and Trumbull Gardens section of Bridgeport and Newhallville, Fair Haven section of New Haven/Hamden. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data driven models, and direct community relations, we provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve living conditions in our community. Your generous donation will fund he continuation of our mission of serving New Haven County and Bridgeport's low income community.
